Retirement in Cambodia: Proof of Life Certificate
How to validate your proof of life to receive your pension in Cambodia
Receiving Your Pension in Cambodia by Validating Your Proof of Life

What Is the “Proof of Life” Certificate for Retired Expatriates?
People living abroad who receive a pension from their home country’s retirement fund are often required to provide yearly proof that they are still alive. Retirees residing in Cambodia receive each year, by email, a pre-filled Proof of Life (or Existence) Certificate. After checking the information, they must book an appointment at their country’s consulate or embassy in Cambodia to have the document validated. Once validated, the certificate is simply uploaded online to ensure the uninterrupted payment of their retirement pension while living in Cambodia.
Retired & Expatriated
Can I Receive My Pension While Living in Cambodia?
Yes. Legally, a retired person may leave France to live in Cambodia: pension payments continue exactly as in France. However, you must inform your retirement funds of your new foreign address (except minimum old-age allowance) and follow all requirements related to the Proof of Life certificate.
Is There a Retirement Visa in Cambodia?
Yes. In Cambodia, you can obtain the Retirement Visa (ER) if you are 55 or older, whether or not you are officially retired in your home country. Nothing else is required.
This Cambodian retirement visa is available for 1 or 3 months (single entry) or 6 and 12 months (multiple entries allowing a local bank account, local driver’s license, etc.).
