Finding Accommodation

The mission of Business Center Cambodia (BCC) is to make Cambodia easier for you. After consultations, we advise you and define together the important criteria for your "new home": the city, neighborhood, type of housing, and surroundings. We organize targeted site visits, review the rental terms, and if needed, renegotiate the contract conditions, whether for short, medium, or long-term rentals.

Receiving Your Retirement Abroad

1
Change of Address:

You can receive your retirement abroad. If you are retired and choose to live in Cambodia, it is essential to report your new address and any changes to your bank details. You can receive your pension in your home country account or request a transfer to your bank abroad.

2
How to do it:

Report changes of address and banking details by postal mail to your regional pension fund, including your full name and social security number with supporting documents.

Attention: Some benefits, such as specific residency-based allowances, may not be paid if you establish residence abroad. You can reapply upon return.

Proof of Life Certificate

If you live abroad and receive a retirement pension, you will receive every year a "Proof of Life Certificate" that must be validated at the Cambodian consulate (or an Honorary Consul in another city in Cambodia).

With the online service "Transmit My Proof of Life", you can receive and submit your certificate to all your pension funds at once. When active, you will receive an email notification. You can then access your account, retrieve the certificate, have it validated at the Cambodian consulate, and submit it online within 2 months. Failure to submit on time may result in suspension of your pension. You can now confirm your life directly online without visiting the consulate.

Healthcare in Cambodia

Since you are leaving your home country, your healthcare may no longer be covered by national health insurance.

You can subscribe to international health insurance or private coverage to ensure complementary healthcare services.

Healthcare During Visits Abroad

Retirees residing abroad can be covered for medical expenses during temporary visits to their home country, subject to certain conditions and contribution requirements.

Taxation for Retirees Abroad

Your taxable retirement income is sent directly to the tax authority of your home country. With automatic deductions, you pay income tax where you receive your pension.

You continue paying taxes in your home country if:

  • You live there for more than 183 days per year,
  • Your household and economic interests remain there.

If you are no longer tax-resident, certain social contributions will not be applied to your pension, while health insurance contributions may still apply. Specific rates vary for self-employed retirees.
